Bloom Class Descriptions

Bloom Yoga classes are tailored for all levels of practitioners. We offer many posture options, focus on alignment, and breath awareness. All Classes are a rich blend of many yogic styles and flow through a balanced,
graceful posture series.

Bloom Level I – A great class for beginners, Bloom Level I is a Hatha Flow class with a slower-paced flow than Bloom Level II. Postures are broken down and demonstrated. Our instructors will lead the class at a gentle pace with an emphasis on alignment and breath. During this interactive class, students are encouraged to ask questions and explore the postures at their own comfort level. Bloom Level I is a great place to start your Bloom Yoga journey

Bloom Level II – For students who are ready to take the next step in their practice, Bloom Level II exhilarates the body and mind with emphasis on movement, balance, and breath awareness. Our level II class offers a faster pace, along with a more challenging posture series, bringing students to a more advanced level of yoga. Some knowledge of posture alignment is recommended.

Bloom Sculpt – A total body workout designed to tone and sculpt every major muscle group. Dumbbells are incorporated in this class as students are guided through a vigorous series of postures intended to reshape muscles and promote a cleansing sweat. This intense, but easy-to-follow program complements your regular yoga practice while pushing your strength and flexibility to new heights.

Blooming Bellies – A comprehensive Prenatal Yoga class to prepare women physically, mentally, and emotionally for the natural process of childbirth and motherhood. Classes increase strength, stamina, flexibility, as well as breath and body awareness while relieving the common discomforts often experienced during pregnancy. Each class concludes with 10 minutes of Yoga Nidra – a deeply transcendental form of relaxation with the potential to remove tensions and worries embedded deep in the mind concerning labor and delivery. Prenatal students should check with their physician before beginning this practice if they are experiencing any complications/concerns with their pregnancy. Blooming Bellies is a beautiful way to Bloom into motherhood.

Testimonials

“Bloom Yoga & Wellness is exactly what I’ve been looking for in a yoga studio. While every class is physically challenging, it is simultaneously soothing and relaxing mentally. Bloom has helped me gain more muscle strength, tone, and flexibility. Every class combines different series of postures so it is never predictable or boring. I would recommend Bloom to anyone who is looking for friendly, convenient yoga that strengthens the body and the mind.”

~Laura Hinton

Bloom Yoga is the best option for yoga classes. Julie is a highly qualified and yet comfortable instructor; she combines the right amount of calming direction with challenging yoga. I always feel better after her classes — stronger, more supple and relaxed. I am writing this review to tell anyone reading this that I highly recommend that you just try one class. Do it for you.

~Susan Miller

I felt so clumsy & awkward at first. But after a few weeks, I fell into the rhythm and everything felt natural. My lower back pain & headaches slowly diminished. I now look forward to & need my yoga every week.

~Jenn Kelly

“As a Certified CrossFit trainer I have found that incorporating Bloom Yoga and Wellness classes into my training program has been invaluable. Not only has Bloom Yoga helped increased my flexibility and balance, but has also helped me become more focused and recover quicker from my workouts. As a wife and mother, Bloom Yoga also provides me with an opportunity to mentally recover as well. I would highly recommend Julie Wallace and Bloom Yoga to anyone, regardless of age or fitness level as a place to recharge both mentally and physically. It has made such a difference in my life.”

~Michelle Remy

I was relatively new to yoga when I began at Bloom Yoga & Wellness. I was hoping to work on my flexibility and core strength. I gained that and much more including a love for yoga. Julie is a fabulous teacher who makes classes fun by always introducing new positions and music to her classes. She gears her classes to the level of her students and creates a supportive & encouraging atmosphere. Her vigorous sculpt classes are sensational – What a great workout. I think I am in the best shape of my life (at 48 years old) as a result. I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to find the yogi within.‎

~Alan Lordi

I have been practicing yoga for many years at many different locations, and after a lengthy break do to an injury – I discovered Julie’s classes at Bloom Yoga and Wellness. Julie is a wonderful teacher that has a gift for meeting students and their needs and yet with encouragement, and her abundant knowledge of yoga she helps you move and grow beyond where you thought possible! She is positive, helpful, always seems to have something new to teach and has created a joyful place to learn yoga or deepen your yoga practice. Bloom is a beautiful place to practice yoga and Julie is a compassionate and inspiring teacher. I highly recommend this studio!‎

So what is Yoga, anyway?

5,000 years ago, in the heart of India, the practice of Yoga mysteriously emerged. The exact origins of Yoga have not been determined, though its evolution can be traced across thousands of years, developing throughout India and eventually spreading to the West in the late 1800s – unfolding into Yoga as we know it today.

The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit root yuj which means to yoke or to unite. This idea of yoking together, or uniting, refers to the integration of the body, mind, and spirit. Yoga allows this integration to occur through the use of physical postures and breath control.

Why practice yoga?

It completely detoxifies the body and boosts the immune system

Decreases blood pressure

Slows the aging process

Increases energy

Reduces stress and promotes well-being

Improves strength, flexibility, balance and coordination

Improves the body’s ability to prevent disease by massaging internal organs

Improves muscle tone

Reduces insomnia and improves sleep

Improves memory and concentration

Lowers cholesterol levels
